How to use a metronome
Start slow — slower than you think you need — and raise the tempo by 4–5 BPM only when you can play a passage cleanly three times in a row. Use tap tempo to find the speed of a song: tap along with the beat four or more times.
Tempo markings
- Largo: 40–60 BPM
- Adagio: 66–76 BPM
- Andante: 76–108 BPM
- Moderato: 108–120 BPM
- Allegro: 120–156 BPM
- Presto: 168–200 BPM

Is the timing accurate?
Clicks are scheduled ahead of time on the audio hardware clock rather than with JavaScript timers, so the beat stays steady even if the page is busy.
